Ways telehealth and online therapy can help

Dealing with stress, anxiety and depression
Anxiety and depression are some of the most common mental health issues facing young people. Thankfully, there is no shortage of approaches and techniques we can use to help you improve your state of mind and free you up to go on living your best life.
Working through grief or trauma
Life can bring about unexpected and tragic events that cause significant impacts on your mental health and ability to function day to day. I have years of experience helping young people in-person and via telehealth to process these traumatic events and return to a sense of feeling normal.

Life transitions and identity
Adolescents and young adults have many formative events and changes in their lives that alter their sense of self, esteem, and identity from gender and sexuality to social status. I am experienced in therapy with school-aged children and older, including gender-affirming care.
What does Telehealth look like?
Telehealth is a private, convenient and friendly environment to get the support you need without the barriers of travel, time, added costs or anxiety. Sometimes therapy and discussing personal issues can be daunting - telehealth lets you do this from your comfort zone and puts you back in control of your healthcare journey
I use Zoom to offer an easy, accessible platform for our sessions, and can offer flexible times to suit your availability. I have years of experience delivering telehealth support with these tools and I find they are just as practical and effective as in-person sessions.

Can I get Medicare rebates? Yes!

Medicare will now rebate at least $96.65 of the total session fee for up to 10 sessions per calendar year, so long as you have a Mental Health Plan from your GP. To claim just follow these easy steps:

-
Organise an extended session with your GP (in-person or online) to obtain a referral letter and a Mental Health Plan
-
Attend your session (and bring along your Mental Health Plan so I know how to best help you)
-
Lodge a Medicare claim after the session to receive the rebate (initially you pay the full fee)

Note: You can get up to 6 sessions rebated initially, and then you can check in with your GP to obtain approval for an additional 4 sessions. if you run out of Medicare sessions in one calendar year, many private health insurers also cover telehealth sessions.
